Design Control release notes
Release notes for Design Control. Each entry lists what’s new, improved, or fixed in that version.
Defects view
NewThe Defects view, with its own summary panels, a detail panel, and columns for the fix and affects versions.
NewA Severity field on defects, set on the work item and shown in the defects view.
NewStatus now shows on the link fields of the global page, so you can see the state of a derived requirement or a piece of validation evidence without opening it.
ImprovedHealth checks now cover the screens and the fields Design Control depends on, not only its work types.
FixedDesign Control macros were missing from Scroll PDF exports, the Traceability matrix macro failed on a Confluence page, and the coverage panel on the tests and traceability views reported the wrong figures.
Summary panels
NewSummary panels on the stakeholder needs, requirements, specifications, tests, and traceability views, giving counts, open warnings, and progress at a glance.
NewHealth checks now cover the custom fields Design Control depends on, and no longer pass the approvals check when approvals are configured but switched off.
ImprovedA macro with no products selected now says Not configured instead of rendering an empty table.
ImprovedThe table views now show you the error when a query fails, rather than failing quietly.
FixedThe Type, Category, and Stakeholder filters opened empty dropdowns, priority counts did not refresh after a change, and searching by work item key did not find specifications.
Filters & traceability
NewPart and software item filters on the requirements, specifications, and tests views.
NewThe Traceability matrix now shows the chain from a system requirement through its detail requirements to their specifications.
ImprovedA warning icon on the traceability matrix now explains itself on hover, and creating a work item follows the standard Jira flow.
ImprovedThe table views load faster and show refresh progress on the individual row rather than reloading the whole table.
FixedA link field could not be cleared once set, Raised defects never loaded its list, and linked specifications were missing from the traceability view.
Traceability matrix
NewAn Orphaned items table on the traceability matrix, listing the items that are not linked to anything, alongside a coverage element for verification and validation tests.
NewClicking a work item key in any table view opens the Jira issue dialog, so you can read the item without leaving the page.
ImprovedThe Traceability view loads its data faster and renders reliably; it previously came up blank on some spaces.
ImprovedHealth checks now verify that the project Design Control is enabled on is company-managed.
FixedSeveral link fields recorded the link in the wrong direction, filtering on a custom field did nothing, and images did not load in the details panel.
Space page & macros
NewThe Design Control space page, with a filterable, sortable table for stakeholder needs, requirements, specifications, and tests, plus a detail panel on each row and a create button, so you can read and add items without leaving the page.
NewThe Traceability view, a tree from stakeholder need to requirement to specification with the verification and validation tests beside it, showing the result of each test’s latest run.
NewConfluence macros for stakeholder needs, requirements, specifications, and tests, each putting the linked work items on the page as cards, plus a Traceability matrix macro that presents the same links as a table.
NewA health check in space settings that verifies the Jira configuration Design Control depends on and can install or correct what is missing, covering work types, project features, and the approvals setup for tests.
NewMacro configuration can scope by product, part, or software item, so a requirements or specifications macro shows only the items linked to what you pick.
